YOU GOT IT. I'm up for either one, we can even mix them like a terrible toucan rambo thread.

[ also translating the game mechanics to something "real" is odd so bear with me ]

[ It's honestly nothing special in terms of a sortie. They, along with several others, had been sent out to a new location to scout it. It's a new map they're exploring, and quite an expansive one at that. In lieu of RNG favoring them actually making it to the correct path, the sortie team had decided to split up and scout ahead to try and find their way forward.

It was little more than drawing lots that had ended up putting the two uchigatana together, and Kasen didn't mind that too terribly. Hasebe was a bit less traditional as a blade when compared to Kasen, it was true, but he had a healthy respect for Hasebe. After all, Kasen's master had served under Nobunaga, so there was respect to be given in that. Granted, it was when Tadaoki was little more than a boy, but still. Kasen at least thought that if not for that service, he may have never come to meet his master at all.

Though while the two blades had some similarities, there were also... differences. Chief amongst them being that Hasebe was a naturally more serious sword, whereas Kasen? Well... ]

I'm beginning to believe that we've truly lost this draw. We've been wandering about in this forest without even a sign of anything for half the day.

[ He may be exaggerating a little. Or a lot. It's probably only been two hours, but Kasen is easily frustrated. ]

[Oh man I totally get you.]

[If he did have to be stuck with anyone, Kasen would be closer to the top of his list. Aside from Kasen's habits when it came to internal affairs, he's reliable. Calm and collected, and does not at all require supervision. Basically, they would be able to hold a conversation without bickering or killing each other. And with the rumour that Hasebe is apparently too hard on some of the swords (see: Nihongou), Hasebe counts his blessings when it comes to something he could potentially get along with.

Either way, this means they can focus on the task at hand and give it their all, since there is no way they're going to stray off course.

That being said...

Hasebe has the patience of god when it game to serving his master. At the same time, he does grow impatient when it comes to being unsuccessful. Kasen is definitely right that something is missing in this picture: resources.]

It isn't half the day. [ . . . ] A quarter of a day. It is a long quest. [that probably is 18 hours long or something.] There is still some time before we have to return to the meeting point. Let us keep going for a while longer before we rest. This forest path is too steep for us to just stop abruptly.
