[ also translating the game mechanics to something "real" is odd so bear with me ]
[ It's honestly nothing special in terms of a sortie. They, along with several others, had been sent out to a new location to scout it. It's a new map they're exploring, and quite an expansive one at that. In lieu of RNG favoring them actually making it to the correct path, the sortie team had decided to split up and scout ahead to try and find their way forward.
It was little more than drawing lots that had ended up putting the two uchigatana together, and Kasen didn't mind that too terribly. Hasebe was a bit less traditional as a blade when compared to Kasen, it was true, but he had a healthy respect for Hasebe. After all, Kasen's master had served under Nobunaga, so there was respect to be given in that. Granted, it was when Tadaoki was little more than a boy, but still. Kasen at least thought that if not for that service, he may have never come to meet his master at all.
Though while the two blades had some similarities, there were also... differences. Chief amongst them being that Hasebe was a naturally more serious sword, whereas Kasen? Well... ]
I'm beginning to believe that we've truly lost this draw. We've been wandering about in this forest without even a sign of anything for half the day.
[ He may be exaggerating a little. Or a lot. It's probably only been two hours, but Kasen is easily frustrated. ]
