[He's running out of time. It's less than an hour until moonrise, and somehow, Riku lost track of time.
And how a werewolf loses track of time is a little beyond him now. But it's also not what he needs to focus on. He needs to get to somewhere safe and secluded, but he also needs to pay someone a little visit first.
See it was just a few months ago that he heard from an older 'wolf about a potential spell the witches just came up with. Something that wouldn't help the already turned wolves, but effectively nullify any scratches or bites that would transmit the werewolf curse. They could still kill people for sure, but less humans would have to worry about turning into a big hairy beast every full moon.
Riku had given it some thought. A couple of months actually to mull it over. Usually even as a wolf, he was careful of his actions, but a close call a month ago put him in a bit of a bind and now he was highly considering it.
Which is why he's dashing over to Sen's place now. She's one of the few witches he trusts with something like this, considering that the spell comes with a warning label: still experimental, which means its still dangerous.
But hey, if he doesn't take the risk, who knows what might happen.
He's out of breath by the time he gets to her door, but his knocks are feverish and hard.]
[In such a dark world, those in the know are the most careful. Sen's home is covered in spells, particularly at night, when many come out to prey. It's not like they chose for this to happen. It was just unfortunate that their fates lead to this.
The last thing she thought, before she prepared to rest for the night, was knocking on her heavily bolted door. Cautiously, she approaches and looks through the peephole, seeing Riku there looking more ragged than he would be after his transformations. It's not even time yet.
Still, she opens the locks to open the door for him. He's someone she trusts and would protect with her life.]
[Under normal circumstances, he'd greet her with a smile and a casual pleasantry, not ragged breaths and a push inside. It's not time, but his body is starting to adjust itself in preparation. Thankfully there's no pain yet.
As soon as he's in, he tries to smile between breaths. There's still no "hi Sen, how are you" or anything of the like. He'll get straight to the point.]
That spell-- the one that stops the curse from spreading. C-can you...?
[She quickly closes the door, making sure to lock it so that nothing comes in. He looks unwell and she can only try to hold onto him so that he doesn't stumble everywhere.]
You want me to do it? But it will do nothing to affect your transformation?
[He smiles again under his bangs, appreciating the words and the squeeze, and tries to stand up straight. It's a little hard right now. His heart is thundering in his chest and his insides already feel like they're twisted around.]
I'll be okay. Whatever goes wrong... it can't be worse than what I already go through now. I'm the one asking for it, Sen.
[He tries so hard to look strong, but she knows. And she knows how he's in pain, and that she really should be looking at his wounds and casting healing spells and giving him potions to calm him down, but--]
Alright, let's go to my basement. Are you really sure though? [Asked just before she starts to lead him down.] You really don't have to. I can try to calm you down for the night.
[He follows obediently with careful steps. A part of him wonders about the same spells she's considering, not to mention her offer. Be a calm wolf for a night. Geez, sounds almost luxurious.]
I don't think you really want a wolf stuck inside all night, calm or not. I'd break something for sure.
[He swallows hard when she stops, grip tightening on the hand rail. He's okay, not going to topple over onto her or anything, but now those feelings are twisting outwards to his extremities.
He still smiles though.]
None of your favourites. I might rip them to shreds.
[He's really beginning to lose control, so before any of the experimental spells happen, she will have to give him one to calm down. That should be okay, but it does make her pick up her pace so they can get their faster.
She will play along because it will make him feel better.]
Ah, I see. Perhaps I should've bought some just for you.
[Sen, you have no idea how nice and good it is to have someone play along with you at this crucial time. It almost makes him feel normal, and does calm some of his nerves.]
And have it be the designated dog blanket? [Hahaha. Self deprived werewolf humour. It never works.
Once they're in and down there though, he slumps against the nearest wall, sweating profusely.]
[He looks up at her and the bottle when she presents it, and gives Sen something of an incredulous look. Never before has he ever had a drink before his transformations, and he's not sure how to feel about starting a habit like that.
But she has a point, and anything to get the edge off right now. Riku takes a swig of it, long nails grasping the bottle.]
[She would've tried to convince him further, but he didn't ask further questions before taking a drink. Now she could only hope that it works quickly, as she takes the empty bottle away from him. Just in case he drops it and hurts himself.]
Oh, that would be a sit to see. Potentially, I would be able to control you much more easily were you drunk. Just in case you do get to that point, let's make you comfortable?

Who knows. You guys need guinea pigs to test it out, right? This is a good chance to do that.

[Her hand grips his arm a little tightly, and her brow knits together.]
It's you. You are my friend, if I had to do this, I only wish it was while I am exactly sure of the spell.

I'll even embroider your name into it. [SEE, personalised doggy blanket.
He's barely hanging on, so she quickly gets a draught, one that can help calm his nerves, and holds it to his lips.]
This should help temporarily.
