[Sometime after the World Cup, Vietnam and England has now set up a date in order to have lunch over at her home. Typically, the weather was hot, although she had made sure to use her house in Hanoi where the weather was much more tolerable than further south. And depending on how long he plans to stay, she will have to be the most gracious host, and plan many things for him, if he was interested!

But before that, she was going to pick up England. Hopefully he was not so tired from his long trip, nor the weather torturing his tolerance of the heat? Just in case, she had brought a cool coconut drink in a cold flask she freshly poured.]

[ Watching as his plane comes in to land, England reflects that well, the Cup hasn't been a total loss after all. He's made a new friend out of it - that's always a nice thing, isn't it? As it taxis to a stop he unbuckles and stretches with a grunt. He's not as young as he used to be - all this long distance flying is hard on a body (particularly one which overindulges in drink, even if that body is functionally immortal). Stepping out of the plane he blinks up into the bright tropical sun and loosens his collar. Perhaps he shouldn't have worn a suit, but he's so used to it now...

He looks around to see if Vietnam is here already ]

[After checking for his flight and making her way to the right gate, Vietnam was now looking out to see when he will arrive. She did make sure to come early, because who knows if his flight arrived earlier! It is best to be safe than sorry.

It wasn't hard to find a blond haired gentleman dressed in a suit, especially when he was definitely much taller than the Asians who shared his flight, or the European tourists who were in shorts and t-shirts.

Vietnam quickly waved to him before she made her way over, seeing if he needed any help with his bags, and her drink still at hand.]

Hello, England! I hope you had a pleasant flight!

[ He looks up when hailed and his face breaks into a smile. He hasn't bothered with a large bag - he seldom does, these days. ]

Vietnam! A pleasure to see you again. The flight was tolerable. I confess to enjoying the luxury of being seated up front.

[ as a Nation he could, of course, use a private jet - most of them know how to fly, by now - but the economy being what it is these days, he contents himself with business class ]

I trust I am not putting you too much out of your way?

[Which helps! If anything, there are plenty of cheap clothing for them to buy, if he needed anything shorter. She manages a smile back in return as she looks up at him.]

That is good! I really do not blame you, it was a very long flight, no? [Flying with their airlines also means stimulating the economy!]

It really is not a problem. With how much time we planned ahead, I have already worked my schedule around this. [She holds up the coconut juice.] It is quite hot today, so I poured this out for you as a quick refreshment before we head to my home. It is coconut.

Mmn, but I suppose we should not complain - far faster than travelling by ship, after all! Or even walking, I suppose. [ Not... that he did much walking, being an island and all ]

Ah, thank you! Coconut? I did not know you could drink it as well - India uses it for cooking, as you know, but I have not seen it this way before. Have you a drink for yourself as well?

Ah, you are right. It has gone a long way from having to travel across lands to meet others and trade, just like when we were little. [Dammit Silk Road, why so long! The life of the landbound!]

Oh yes, you can drink coconut! It is naturally sweet, and a wonderful substitute for water too whenever one needs it. [Holds it up higher for him as she opens the flask so that he can look at how mostly translucent it is.] It is definitely popular as an ingredient for...well, many things, like India and his cooking. I...only brought this for you. I can drink some later.

It seems like only yesterday, does it not? How swiftly time flies! And it seems to go swifter with every passing year. All this technology now - I do enjoy the convenience, but somedays I miss the simplicity of the days without. [ he admits ]

I see! How convenient. [ He nods then shakes his head insistently ] Oh! Well in that case, it's fine, Vietnam, it would be horribly rude of me to drink when you are not! Why don't we go and get you one as well?

[She nods! A bit quickly.] It certainly has! I believe it moves faster now with how quickly the humans are creating new technology. [She then looks around cautiously before leaning in to whisper--] I actually find it hard to catch up. Taiwan thinks I can do it, but when there is too much at once...ah, I do miss the simplicity of those days too.

It really is, and tastes good too. [Although she has heard of many not enjoying coconut, but it seems that since England has tried it in India's cooking before, he should be fine. She straightens up again, and looks at him, the flash, and back at him.] Well, I am fine, but I do not mind a drink if in your company. I will just get a quick drink of anything. [She eyes the nearby cafes and vending machines.] I do not want to keep you waiting, if you are parched. [From the heat!]

Indeed! [ he nods ] While I am grateful for the ability to reach those far away swiftly, at times it feels as if the connections between us grow frayed as much because they are used too often. [ particularly whenever America gets bored ]

[ he reaches out to pat her hand briefly ]

I am sure you will, Vietnam. Taiwan was one of Japan's once, yes? So she has a bit of an advantage on you there - but you do admirably well for a difficult start!

[ he shakes his head ] No, no not at all! They served us drinks on board the flight, so I don't mind waiting a little.

[She tries not to smile, because she understands this perfectly. Looking at her own family with how they visit a lot...or how they convince her to come visit them.] You have many who come visit you unexpectedly?

[She tugs his hand warmly in response.] Ah, that is true, she is more used to his ideals, and she often socialises with Korea. For a while, I was unable to use Facebook as well, so I did not understand what everyone else was talking about. [TRAGIC.

Facebook, yes [ A small grimace ] And all its various variations. After you, Vietnam! I do not mind - this is your home, after all.

[She heard that. She has to give him That Look of understanding. Ah, America. If their recent better relations has taught her anything, as well as that with Australia's...]

Too much family is not a good thing when one needs a break, it is understandable. Especially when we all have such large families. [Thanks, Asians.] I hope you will be able to enjoy this short break here?

Facebook. And Twitter! But then I am getting used to Twitter. [Probably because with Facebook and Twitter, they can all bitch about China without him knowing. Make this a thing, UN.] Alright, I remember seeing a place close by. [She reaches for his bag, although she doesn't take it unless he lets go (since some do not like their belongings touched).]

This way! [And towards the carpark where her boring as heck Hyundai is waiting. Sorry, England, she wishes she could drive him around in a Rolls Royce or an Astin Martin too. (Or her sweet as motorbike, but that's later).]

[ Truthfully, he likes the visits - or at least, the company - he just... finds the givers of said company very annoying. At least they're better than France? ]

I certainly intend to, thank you Vietnam! And yes, family is ... well, family, eh?

Ahhh Twitter. [ He makes a face at that too ] It is certainly useful... [ when not being abused by Prussia to annoy him. He smiles and shakes his head when she reaches for the bag ] Ah, no, thank you Vietnam, but it truly is not that heavy, and I do not mind. Lead the way!

[ Aw, what a cute little car! ] I do thank you for the indulgence, once again.

[If only he had more even tempered visitors! Although Vietnam would visit him in the future! And yes, his boys are at least better than France (gods save them all whenever France visits the Francophonies).]

I hope this country will be to your liking. And ah, yes. family is family. Sometimes we want to pull our hair out, but we wouldn't want them replaced.

[She gives an awkward laugh at his remark on Twitter.] Useful in knowing what everyone else is doing, but sometimes too fast for me. [But she does favourite all the pictures!] A-alright!

[And onwards to the cute car! So humble of her. Once they reach it, she lifts the hatchback so that England can put his bag in at the back.] It is not a problem, of course! I have been looking forward to this day for quite some time.

[ Ah, for dreams of such things! And he'd take America over France any day (lies) ]

I am sure it will be, Vietnam, with such a gracious host!

[ He chuckles at her description of twitter and nods - true, true! Even as he pops the bag into the back ]

Me too. [ he confesses ] It has been a while since I was able to simply travel for the sake of visiting friends, and not for work.

[It will be great! And there see. Maybe. Actually that's a hard choice.

And her cheeks flush at the compliment. She hasn't even started yet but that's exactly how she wants to be seen.] A-ah, I will try my best, of course!

[As soon as he puts the bag in and is clear of the car, she shuts the back and moves to the passenger seat to see if he needs any help. (Or if her car door decides to be an ass).

She smiles in response.] Yes! It is the same for me, though I suppose it would be more accurate to say it has been a while since I was able to entertain friends purely for the sake of it.

And I am sure you will succeed! [ He assures before cursing softly under his breath as he fiddles with the door, before standing back to let her with a flush and a 'sorry!' ]

We really should do things like this more often I suppose - all this work! It seems that none of us ever get real holidays any longer.

[ says the workaholic ]

Although, with this incident, I am starting off badly. This only happened recently--...[And she tries to wring the crap out of her car's door just to get it open. Ah! There we go.] I am so sorry, England!

[She awkwardly steps back, though she brightens up a little.] We really should. Perhaps we can make it into something we do? A meet up every couple of months. Even though it will be a holiday, I am sure our bosses can still approve since it will help boost foreign relations.

[Also a workholic, no wonder she says something about it.]

Ah, no no - cars are sometimes...temperamental, eh? [ says the guy with a garageful and yet his favourite is the old clunker that runs on love and prayers ]

That sounds an excellent idea! We should suggedt it.

Temperamental...you're right. [She eyes her car and shakes her head.] Yet we still love them, don't we? Since they have served us well. [See, she understands him. Love and prayers are also cheaper than fuel.]

Perhaps I could message mine later. For now, no work. We do not make mention of work. [She laughs softly, before moving over to the drivers side to get in.]

We do, for all their problems [ England smiles and shrugs a little ] - they have helped make our world much smaller, eh?

Oh, of course! [ He chuckles, agreeing instantly ] For now, at least, the two of us are on holiday - work will wait. Where too, Vietnam?

[She smiles and nods as she pets the car's dashboard.] They certainly have. As long as we care for them well, they are very loyal.

Exactly! And our holiday starts...right now. [And she starts the engines!] Let's see, I saw a few cafes on the way, one of them looked like they had air-conditioning and serves great drinks. Shall we go there?

To the brave new world then! [ England chuckles at her ]

Hm, I will let you decide, Vietnam - I trust you to know where the good places are - I think I'd simply get lost!

A-ah, onwards! [She laughs softly before she starts to drive out of the car park.]

Alright, I will try my best to pick somewhere you will like. Although, I hear that getting lost while traveling is one way to immerse oneself into the culture. [Not that she has tried this herself.]

That is what they say. [ England nods ] And I suppose there is some truth to it, but I've never been one for such disorganisation! Really, it's more an American thing to do, I think.

Hmm, I understand what you mean. Sometimes it is also better to be safe and prepared. [She pauses as she starts pulling out onto the road, where her driving takes a much more dramatic change in that it is now faster to avoid getting abused by all these motorbikes!] That would explain while America is so hotheaded whenever he visits anywhere.
