[-so, after some intense negotiations, The Empire (which empire? it didn't matter) had politely, yet firmly, rejected their side's offer. Politely, yet firmly, expressed that they had borders. Politely, yet firmly, reaffirmed that they didn't give a fuck as to what happened outside of said borders, and that any attempts to bring the troubles of what-lay-outside to imperial territory...well! It wouldn't go well.
But that's why they had the two of them, right? Well, more than just the two of them, but given how the Empire's famed library sprawled, they had to separate into small teams of two and three. The better to infiltrate the library. The better to find the texts they needed. The better to escape, or help others escape, when...inevitably, really, someone was caught.]

[Murmured quietly enough so that the robots (for, of course, there were robots stomping about, large mechanical abominations rolling about) couldn't hear them. As if there were any nearby. If there were, they'd be turned into paste in five seconds, probably. Or at least they'd try to turn them into paste.]
